Melbourne is an awesome city. It feels like you are in one giant urban outfitters. Every street is lined with endless cafes, shops, health food restaurants, and vintage clothing stores. Birmy is now not only trying to master his surfer bro look but he decided he also wants to become trendy.
Things we have covered so far..or should mention…
1. In Australia you must ask for the check- we learned the hard way when we waited for an hour and a half wondering if the aussie waitress forgot about us. Turns out she didn’t.
2. Home at the Mansion (Melbourne), is the best hostel in Australia. It is a restored old mansion with amazing facilities near all major areas in Melbourne.
3. Tennis events are more fun than you would ever expect.
4. Free wireless internet in McDonalds, 50 cent ice cream cones, and free water.
However, there is a catch. Along with the free internet, and free water you have a free ticket to the zoo. Thank god we never made it to the zoo in Sydney because there are enough birds in here to fill a country.
5. Brunswick Street is unbelievable. Every bar, restaurant, lounge you name it has their own character, whether it is trendy or not, there is something for everyone.
6. Less is more. Australian people don’t stress, don’t wear make up, and don’t work. They have an admirable life style, they are immune to 110 degree heat/ uv rays, and they don’t over pack. We can learn a lot of lessons from Australians.
7. Degraves St and Centre Place contain all walks of life. These closed ally ways are full of the best people watching, coffee houses, and Birmy’s Strawberry fruit juices.
8. Iced Coffee. For all iced coffee drinkers out there, don’t make the mistake Carley made. An iced coffee in Australia is 50% ice cream 20% cream 20% additional sugar 5% ice and 5% coffee. Just order a regular and you will be pleased because it is some of the best coffee out there!
9. Travel in 3s can be good for one reason. Group photos, we have been struggling with photography because one can only take some many onesies in a day.
Later on bros…
